Barnabás Varga Stable in Hospital After Horror Collision

Hungary Striker Suffers Face Injuries

WEB Hungary striker Barnabás Varga is in a stable condition in hospital after suffering facial injuries in a mid-air collision with Scotland defender Kieran Tierney during their Euro 2024 Group A match on Tuesday. Varga was stretchered off the pitch in the second half of Hungary's 1-0 win and was taken to hospital for further treatment.

Condition Update

The Hungarian Football Federation (MLSZ) has confirmed that Varga has suffered several broken bones in his face but is stable and conscious in hospital. He is expected to undergo surgery in the coming days and will remain in hospital for observation.

Hungary coach Marco Rossi praised Varga's bravery and determination, saying: "Barnabás is a warrior and he showed that on the pitch today. He's a key player for us and we hope he can make a full recovery and be back on the pitch as soon as possible."

Scotland manager Steve Clarke expressed his concern for Varga, saying: "It was a terrible incident and our thoughts are with Barnabás Varga and his family. We hope he makes a full recovery and wish him all the best in his rehabilitation."

Outlook for Varga

Varga's injury is a major blow to Hungary's hopes of progressing in Euro 2024. The 25-year-old is one of the team's most promising young players and his absence will be a significant loss.

It is unclear how long Varga will be out for, but it is likely that he will miss the rest of the tournament. Hungary's next match is against Croatia on Saturday, and they will need to find a replacement for Varga in attack.
